Booktrust’s websites
Websites are an integral part of all Booktrust’s projects and campaigns.
Each of our bookgifting schemes has its own website to explain how the scheme works and provide parents, carers and scheme organisers with downloadable resources. Our main children’s books website features thousands of reviews, as well as author interviews, articles, competitions and a searchable database of books; the site is home to special sections about book illustrators (the Big Picture campaign) and teenage fiction, and Children’s Book Week resources can be found here as well.
You can find out what Anthony Browne, the current Children’s Laureate, is up to on the Children’s Laureate website.
Our Everybody Writes site is packed with ideas about running writing projects in schools.
For adult readers, we run specialist sites dedicated to short stories, translated fiction and books about London.
In addition, the Booktrust site features information about all our work as well as reviews of books we like and book lists of related titles.
Online writer in residence
In March 2009, Booktrust announced that Patrick Ness would be their first-ever online writer in residence. During his six-month tenure Patrick wrote 20 blog entries, ten sets of writers’ tips and a brand-new, exclusive short story. His successor is the Ghanaian poet, short story writer and publisher Nii Ayikwei Parkes.
