Clixmix
The new knowledge and games portal for primary school children
The new online platform, http://www.clixmix.de, is free of charge and free of adverts. Initiated by Deutsche Post AG and Stiftung Lesen, it accompanies children at primary school age into the world of today’s media. The portal offers a safe starting point to using the internet, and it provides an active, creative and critical approach to dealing with diverse media in a playful way.
Different animal characters customised to the types of learners stand by the children – be it the analytical, scientific tortoise or the sensitive, timid mouse, or the monkey who is full of spirit and eager for action. These animal avatars want to assist the children in developing their very individual access to information and knowledge.
The online offering is supported by printed materials for primary school teachers and parents: subject to the motto “Fit into the world of media“, media educational tips and general subject ideas for lessons invite the teachers to integrate new media into daily school life. The information brochure for parents moreover invites the families to actively engage in the topic.
