Better Reading Skills
The promotion of reading in all its various forms is a vital mission. Thus, and for the learners’ benefit, training reading abilities should be a steady component of teaching and an important element in successfully teaching reading and literature. Young readers who need help in developing their reading skills are at the focus of attention.
The Pedagogical Institute (in cooperation with the Centre for Libraries and Reading) is organising the training course ‘Better Reading Skills’. The course is aimed at primary and secondary school teachers as well as school librarians.
The participants will learn about diagnostic methods (in pedagogical terms), develop supportive measures and carry out reading training in order to improve the learners’ abilities and skills. They will also be enabled to give advice and support to colleagues and interested parents.
The training course will start in August 2011, comprise seven units and finish in May 2013.
