Reading Aloud Week
Reading aloud is the start of a lifelong enjoyment of books. Each year, in the last week of November, Stichting Lezen presents a wide range of attractive books for reading aloud via daycare centres, kindergartens, libraries and bookshops. The campaign focuses on children of nursery and pre-school age, but, of course, the joy of being read to does not end when children can read for themselves.
The campaign starts with famous reading advocates (Princess Mathilde, politicians, weather forecasters, singers and actors) reading aloud to a group of young children.
