Ride for Reading Tour 2009
60 participants, 800 kilometres, from Rostock to Prague
“Ride for Reading” is a beneficial cycling tour aiming to teach children a love for reading as well as media competence. The Stiftung Lesen (Reading Foundation) and the Ride for Reading Foundation jointly set up reading media rooms from the funds raised by this event in schools in educationally deprived areas.
Children will find a rich supply of books and other media here as well as rooms where they can play and read together. The Ride for Reading Tour 2009 was held from 4-11 July 2009. Highlights of this year’s tour were Berlin, the Sächsische Schweiz area and the Czech Republic.
A new tour is planned for 2010, leading from Alsace across the Vosges mountain area to Bonn. For further information about the project and the event, please look at the homepage.
