Time for Breakfast = Time to Read
The breakfast and reading initiative for primary schools 2009/2010
Reading promotion and a well-balanced diet are both essential for life. Enjoyment and imagination play a role in both cases – and the function of parents, carers and teachers as role models is important in both cases, too. Breakfast in particular is crucial for mastering a day’s demands in a physically fit and concentrated manner.
Thousands of primary school children attended the project ‘Frühstückszeit = Lesezeit’ (‘Time for Breakfast is Time to Read’) in schools in Germany, organised by Stiftung Lesen in co-operation with Nestlé. Nationwide, parents, pupils and teacher put creative breakfast times into practice. The project will be continued next year.
This project is run by Stiftung Lesen (Germany)
