World Book and Copyright Day 2011
‘I make you a gift of a story - stories of courage’
On World Book Day on 23 April 2011, the Stiftung Lesen, together with its partners in the World Book Day, is once again offering a major book token action for all 4th and 5th classes. On presentation of the book token at bookshops throughout the country the children will receive a gift of the World Book Day book, I Make You A Gift Of A Story – Stories Of Courage.
This book is published annually by the Stiftung Lesen on the occasion of the UNESCO World Book and Copyright Day together with its partners, the Deutsche Post, cbj Verlag and ZDF. For World Book Day 2011, it contains seven stories involving the subject of courage by the renowned authors of books for children and young people, Michael Borlik, Sissi Flegel-Eisele, Annette Langen, Sabine Ludwig, Regina Rusch, Ursel Scheffler, and Anja Tuckermann.
More than 750,000 schoolchildren from some 30,000 classes participated in the Book Token Action in 2010 on the occasion of World Book Day 2010. The action is additionally supported by the state associations and the federal association of the German book trade as well as by the ministries of culture and education of the German states.
This project is run by Stiftung Lesen (Germany)
