Panel discussion on ‘How to Make Europe Read Again’

Given the fact, that more than 73 million Europeans lack sufficient reading skills, EURead, the network for European reading and literacy organisations, organised a forum at this year’s Bologna Childrens Book Fair on ‘How to make Europe read again‘.

Joerg F. Maas (EURead and Stiftung Lesen), Ulrika Caperius (Bonnier Carlsen) and Daan Beeke (Stichting Lezen) discussed various ways how to reach out to children, young people, families and the broader public across Europe.

Publishing houses, authors, innovators, non-profit organisations and political decision makers need to work together to make all European citizens read again.

The discussion in Bologna will continue at the Annual General Meeting of EURead in Brussels on September 23-25, 2019.
