Based on research by the University of Salzburg, in the school year 2007/2008 the Austrian Buchklub launched a pilot project at 40 Austrian schools, and about 20 partner schools and kindergartens. Five models of reading partnerships were tested, scientifically accompanied and evaluated. The pilot phase showed that reading competence and reading motivation could be increased significantly by the reading partnerships.
